Biochemists use chemical knowledge and techniques to help understand and solve biological problems. Through biochemistry, researchers have developed drugs to treat conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Parkinson鈥檚 disease, and schizophrenia. Biochemists have discovered the mechanisms behind many serious diseases, such as cancer, Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, HIV and Sickle Cell Disease.
