Dr. Karla Gonz谩lez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism in Broadcast News with a concentration in Latin American Studies, a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and a Doctorate in Spanish-American Literature with a Portfolio in Mexican-American Studies. She studies the impact and the literature of immigrant groups in the United States, especially in the Mexican-American community during the Mexican Revolution.

She has extensive experience teaching Spanish language with both second-language learners and heritage speakers. Her experience also includes providing advanced Spanish language training to business professionals and bilingual speech pathologists at Austin Independent School District. Dr. Gonz谩lez鈥� career also includes working as a Multicultural Outreach Coordinator for Austin Independent School District, designing programs to promote parental involvement in disadvantaged communities and minority groups.
